Your rental agreement is the most important document regarding your tenancy. By signing the rental agreement, you commit to the responsibilities and obligations related to your tenancy. The rental agreement is always prepared in writing.
Non-fixed-term rental agreement
Our rental agreements are usually valid until further notice. If you terminate your rental agreement the period of notice is one calendar month.
Fixed-term agreement
We only sign fixed-term rental agreements in special cases. Fixed-term rental agreements are primarily used with businesses.
When the number of residents changes
You have the obligation to report any resident changes to the maintenance company in charge of maintaining the house’s list of residents. New residents must also submit a Notification of change of address to the Local Register Office. The notification can be submitted at a post office or on the website of Posti.
Please note that the maintenance company is only allowed to open the door of your apartment to persons who you, as the signatory of your rental agreement, have reported to the maintenance company as residents in your apartment.
Changing apartments
Life is full of changes and housing needs may also change. If you are interested in moving from one KAS apartment to a bigger or smaller one or to a KAS apartment in another city you can apply for a new apartment by submitting an application on our website. Please indicate on the first page of the application form that you are applying for a change of apartment.
